Wilderness First Aid

Join us July 27 & 28 for Wilderness First Aid, a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures. This course results in a certification in Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR. This course is taught by a qualified and experienced Wilderness Medical Associates instructor who provides high quality instruction through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on application.

Students are responsible for bringing their own food and a reusable water bottle.  The classroom space does have a fridge and microwave for use as needed.  Most of the course will take place outside; dress for the weather.  Various lodging options are available.

Location & Time:

  • Class runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day
  • Hosted at Stone Valley Recreation Area (near Penn State in Centre County), 10266 Lodge Lane, Petersburg, PA 16669

Training Costs:*

  • KTA Volunteers- $265
  • KTA Members- $295
  • General Public- $325

Lodging Options:
Cabins are one room.  Restroom facilities are central to the cabins.  Bring your own linens and towels.  If arriving the first day of training, plan to check into your room once training wraps up.  Check-out is at 10am.  Rates below are per person.

  • Bring your own tent- $10/night
  • Solo cabin with AC, fridge, microwave, and outside grill- $100/night
  • Double occupancy cabin with AC, fridge, microwave, and outside grill- $50/night
  • Triple occupacny cabin with AC, fridge, mircrowave, & outside grill- $35/night
  • Solo cabin with no electricity- $15/night
  • Double occupcancy cabin with no electricity- $10/night

The last day to register is July 13.  That last day to request a refund is July 9.
