Snow Goose Spring Migration Hike with KTA & the Pennsylvania Game Commission

Middle Creek is a Globally Important Bird Area managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. It provides an annual, winter resting spot for migrating tundra swans and snow geese. During this time, bird counts can reach over 100,000.   

Join KTA and the Pennsylvania Game Commission for a short, guided hike on the Millstone Trail (approximately 1.2 miles) to discuss Middle Creek's history, snow goose migration, and other natural wonders. Be sure to dress appropriately for rigorous, outdoor activity and the weather. This loop hike has an elevation gain of over 300 feet before arriving at an overlook perched above the lake. Following the guided hike with the Game Commission, there will be an optional hike along the shoreline (avian flu regulations permitting) and group dinner at a nearby restaurant. If joining the additional hike, plan to be outdoors until 5pm.

Please Note:

• The Visitor Center is an incredible resource; come early to check it out.
• Bring layers, pertinent personal first aid, water, snacks, and binoculars.  

Registration Cost:

• $8 for adults
• $3 for youth ages 18 and younger
