Snow Goose Spring Migration Hike with KTA & the Pennsylvania Game Commission
Description
Middle Creek is a Globally Important Bird Area managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. It provides an annual, winter resting spot for migrating tundra swans and snow geese. During this time, bird counts can reach over 100,000.
Join KTA and the Pennsylvania Game Commission for a short, guided hike on the Millstone Trail (approximately 1.2 miles) to discuss Middle Creek's history, snow goose migration, and other natural wonders. Be sure to dress appropriately for rigorous, outdoor activity and the weather. This loop hike has an elevation gain of over 300 feet before arriving at an overlook perched above the lake. At noon, there is an optional pre-hike lunch at a nearby restaurant leaving ample time to check out the Visitor's Center before the hike. If interested in lunch, note it when registering. The lunch location will be shared a few days ahead of time.
