2025 Trail Maintenance Training Institute

Are you ready to take your trail maintenance skills to the next level? Keystone Trails Association is pleased to announce a trail maintenance workshop this April. For new and returning volunteers, KTA Trail Care volunteers, hiking club members, etc. -- there will be something for everyone. Coursework includes indoors and outdoors sessions in chainsaw/swamper safety, risk management, and water diversion tactics. Instructors include Mike Powell, Lauren Kennedy-Little, and KTA staff.

​Tools, personal protective equipment, meals, and lodging will be provided. Participation is limited to 13 people. Participants must bring their own leather boots, long pants, water bottle, and, if available, shatterproof safety glasses and work gloves. The session begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and concludes Sunday afternoon by 5:00 p.m; training operates out of Grove Lodge at Camp Nawakwa, 1033 Nawakwa Rd, Biglersville PA 17307.
