Family, Friends, and Colleagues,

As you know I am a strong advocate for getting outside and exploring the natural world. Nature is a constant source of awe, from the smallest hover fly on a flower to the grandest mountain landscape or the magic of the night sky. It provides those who  embrace it with inspiration, peace-of-mind, and the opportunity to challenge oneself physically and mentally.

The priveldege to experience nature's wonders requires open spaces, both small and large. With this in mind I'm asking for your help. Please join me in supporting the Keystone Trail Association (www.kta-hike.org) and their efforts to support measures that protect PA hiking trails, hiking experiences, and the integrity of the environment.

I'm participating in the KTA 100-mile trail challenge that runs from 1-Sep-2023 to 31-Aug-2024. Within that timeframe, I will hike at least 100 miles on PA trails with a stretch goal of 500 miles. Any PA hiking trail is eligible for inclusion in the 100 Mile Trail Challenge (including township, private, unblazed trails, multi-use trails, etc.).

How can you get involved?

You can support my effort and the mission of the KTA by making a tax deductible donation. You can make your donation to the KTA online through my online KTA donation page or by submitting your donation directly to the KTA office along with the donation form:  KTA mail-in donation form. If you donate, you can challenge me with a hike of your own creation that matches your donation in distance up to 20 miles ($20.00). Recommended hikes must be on established trails, be no more than 20 miles in length, be within 2 hours of Yardley, PA, and not require any technical rock climbing. The top donor will have the opportunity to propose a 30-mile hike (must be within 2 hours of Yardley, PA, and not require any technical rock climbing). I will do my best to meet your challenge and keep you posted on the outcome. I have set a fundraising goal of $500.00 and hope to achieve the same in distance with your support and encouragement.

I am going to leave you with a challenge: I challenge you to join me on a hike or get out on a PA trail on your own to experience a little awe.

Thank you for your support and I hope to see you on the trail!

ABOUT 100 Mile Trail Challenge 2023-2024

100 Mile Trail Challenge

We're honoring the 40th Anniversary of KTA's Trail Care Program (to be celebrated in 2024) with these goals for the 100 Mile Challenge: 1) have 40+ participants, and 2) raise $4,000+.

PA's hiking trails are one of our state's greatest assets. They improve overall well-being, strengthen communities, and benefit PA's economy. Keystone Trails Association's mission is to provide, protect, preserve, and promote recreational hiking trails and hiking opportunities in Pennsylvania.

KTA's 100 Mile Trail Challenge makes our mission a reality! The challenge provides a unique opportunity to hike with a purpose, promotes hiking trails in PA, and the funds raised through the campaign protect and preserve trails in PA by supporting our Trail Care Program and advocacy efforts.

Sign up to participate in the challenge or support a hiker by donating to their campaign!
